OpenAI to hold senior AI training in Seoul with Fastcampus for Parents\' Day

OpenAI said on Wednesday it will jointly host an artificial intelligence training event in Seoul on May 8, Parents\' Day in South Korea, with Fastcampus, a practical training brand of Day1 Company. The event at the Seoul AI Hub Center will host about 35 participants aged 50 and over. It includes basic AI training, ChatGPT planning and production practice, presentations and awards.

Upstage unveils in-house LLM Solar Open 100B as open source

Upstage said on Tuesday it has released its self-developed large language model, Solar Open 100B, as open source. It called the model the first outcome of a government project to build an independent AI foundation model. The company said Solar Open, trained from scratch, exceeded DeepSeek R1 on major benchmarks in Korean, English and Japanese while being 15 percent of its size. Upstage also cited efficiency gains via an MoE design and GPU optimisation.
