Tech Insight: Software companies have only two sustainable paths, both requiring radical change
As AI spreads, the outlook for software companies is no longer what it was, with some seeing a darker future. Andreessen Horowitz (a16z) General Partner David George says there are only two ways for software firms to survive: raise growth rates sharply or significantly strengthen profitability, with no comfortable middle ground. He sets targets for AI-driven revenue growth and for operating margins including stock-based compensation, and warns firms that try to sit in between will face mounting market pressure.
