Prominent investor says memecoins are a giant scam, buy only if you can lose everything

U.S. investor and tech entrepreneur Jason Calacanis called memecoins a “giant scam” and said he has no connection to any memecoin project and will not get involved. He warned that he would never privately tell anyone what to buy or sell via social media or direct messages. Calacanis also reiterated that people should only buy memecoins or invest in startups if they can afford to lose 100 percent of their money.

AI for Everyone service to launch this year, led by SKT, KT and Kakao

South Korea selected SK Telecom, KT and a Kakao consortium as operators for the nationwide “AI for Everyone” project, the science ministry said on Thursday. The consortiums will use their lead organisations’ strengths to launch public-facing AI services this year. Evaluations reviewed model and service competitiveness, GPU use and infrastructure plans, plus convenience, user acquisition strategies, quality and safety. The ministry plans contracts in September, a beta service and formal launch this year.

BYD launches Seal 06 in China, Model 3-sized at half the price with 5-minute charging

BYD has launched the new Seal 06 electric sedan in China, a Model 3-sized car priced at about half of Tesla’s entry-level Model 3. It is offered as a battery electric vehicle and a plug-in hybrid across 12 trims. BYD says its fast-charging technology can charge the battery from 10 percent to 70 percent in 5 minutes. The car also offers a lidar-based driver assistance system and navigation-assisted driving.
