LG Chem to focus on AI chips, auto materials; targets 2 trillion won electronic materials sales by 2030
LG Chem plans to double sales from its electronic materials business to 2 trillion won by 2030, positioning the segment as a key future growth pillar. The company said it will respond to rising demand for high-performance materials used in AI semiconductors, autonomous driving and next-generation displays. It will expand semiconductor packaging materials, broaden automotive material offerings and accelerate development of display materials for applications such as XR and robots.

Innox Advanced Materials posts lower 2025 operating profit, targets next-generation DAF mass production in H1
Innox Advanced Materials said on Feb. 3 it posted 439.6 billion won in 2025 consolidated revenue and 81.9 billion won in operating profit. Revenue rose 4 percent from a year earlier while operating profit fell 5.6 percent. The company cited higher utilisation in semiconductor and display materials and a currency effect for revenue growth, while start-up costs at subsidiary Innox Lithium weighed on profit. It plans to supply next-generation DAF film in the first half.

Inox Advanced Materials targets AI semiconductors with space-proven materials
Inox Advanced Materials said on Jan. 26 it will intensify its push into the market for core materials used in advanced industries such as physical AI, robots and AI semiconductors, based on technology validated in the space and aerospace sector. The company has continuously supplied aerospace EMI carrier tape to SpaceX since 2023. It also supplies DAF, backgrinding tape and EMI carrier tape to global semiconductor companies and has begun pre-mass-production verification to supply a new DAF material to another top chipmaker.
