LG Uplus member to lead Korea\'s WorldSkills cloud team
An LG Uplus employee will serve as coach of South Korea\'s national team in the cloud computing category and as an international expert at the 48th WorldSkills Competition in Shanghai. LG Uplus said Bae Joo-hyuk from its UCube DAX team will take part from Sept. 22 to 27. The competition is held every two years and will draw about 1,400 participants from more than 70 countries and regions.

MSIT to overhaul cybersecurity framework, expand scope to AI, cloud and space
South Korea\'s Ministry of Science and ICT is set to revamp its cybersecurity framework for the ministry and affiliated bodies. The proposed revision introduces the national network security framework and requires agencies to classify information into three levels. It adds separate safeguards for AI systems and sets clearer standards for the use of private cloud services. It also strengthens procedures to preserve evidence after cyber incidents, including when contractors hold relevant data, and expands security management to space systems.

Innogrid upgrades virtualisation platform, launches Openstackit 3.5
Innogrid, a cloud computing and AI infrastructure company, said on Sept. 3 it launched Openstackit 3.5, a private cloud solution that upgrades its in-house virtualisation technology and cloud operations capabilities. The company said the release focuses on improving stability and operating efficiency for large-scale virtualisation environments and reflects operational experience and customer requirements. It added features such as maintenance mode, instance optimised rebalancing, strengthened instance high availability and enhanced GPU provisioning, allocation, monitoring and scheduling.
