Clicks to ship Blackberry-style physical keyboard phone Communicator in December

Clicks will begin shipping its first smartphone, the Communicator, in December, about a year after unveiling it at CES 2026, an Engadget report said. The company raised some final specifications, including increasing RAM to 12GB and battery capacity to 4,350 mAh. The phone runs Android 17 and will receive software support through Android 20, with five years of security updates. The price rises to $649 from Oct. 1.

Testing ChatGPT-6 Astra for tedious tasks from train tickets to account deletion

A reporter tested OpenAI’s GPT-6 Astra on delayed web chores ranging from an OTT compensation claim and account deletion to bargain shopping and Chuseok train tickets. It could navigate sites, summarise conditions and complete multi-step forms, but logins, phone verification, CAPTCHAs and anti-macro blocks limited hands-free use. It performed well on checking National Assembly schedules and creating a GIF thumbnail, and it helped upload images and captions in a newsroom editing system.

Toss Ads measures awareness impact of public service ads, first applied to smoking cessation campaign

Viva Republica’s advertising service Toss Ads has applied an analysis method that measures differences in user awareness beyond ad views and clicks. Toss Ads said on Sept. 16 it took part in spreading ads for the Ministry of Health and Welfare and the Korea Health Promotion Institute’s “Don’t just cut down, quit now” campaign. The campaign aims to highlight e-cigarette risks and raise awareness about quitting.
