Tech group including Amazon, Apple and Google urges U.S. Senate to pass Clarity Act
The U.S. Consumer Technology Association (CTA), whose members include Amazon, Apple and Google, urged the U.S. Senate to quickly pass the Clarity Act, a digital asset market structure bill. Senator Cynthia Lummis publicly backed the measure, saying developers should not need lawyers to determine whether their code is legal. The bill would divide oversight between the SEC and CFTC, set standards for tokens and include protections for open-source developers and self-custody providers.

DeepX draws over 20,000 visitors over four days at CES 2026
DeepX said on Jan. 22 it drew more than 20,000 visitors over four days at CES 2026 as it accelerates mass production and rollout of physical AI semiconductors. The company presented an alternative to power, heat and cost issues in data center-focused AI and disclosed a roadmap to run large language models with under 5 watts. DeepX said 58 percent of visitors were senior decision-makers and 54 percent had purchase authority, with about 65 percent from overseas.

Samsung Galaxy Z Trifold wins top CES award
Samsung Electronics said on Jan. 12 that its Galaxy Z Trifold won two categories at CNET\'s Best of CES 2026 Awards: Best Overall Winner and Best Mobile Tech. CNET, an official CES partner, evaluates products with more than 40 technology experts across 22 categories. Samsung\'s S95H OLED TV lineup won Best TV or Home Theater, and Music Studio5 won Best Home Audio. Samsung also took 27 CES Innovation Awards.
