Ripple wins final EU EMI licence approval in Luxembourg

Ripple has received final approval for an EU Electronic Money Institution (EMI) licence from Luxembourg’s financial authorities, The Block reported on Feb. 2. The approval converts a preliminary clearance granted on Jan. 14 into a formal licence. Ripple said the decision will enable it to expand payments and digital asset services in Europe, supported by authorisation from Luxembourg’s Commission de Surveillance du Secteur Financier (CSSF).

Ripple has cleared another hurdle in expanding its cryptocurrency services in Europe after receiving preliminary approval for an Electronic Money Institution licence from Luxembourg\'s financial regulator, CSSF, Cointelegraph reported. Ripple said the move is key to expanding digital asset infrastructure in Europe and that full EMI approval would allow payment services using stablecoins and other digital assets. CSSF sent a greenlight letter setting conditions for final approval.
