[DigitalToday reporter Jinju Hong] RippleX Senior Vice President Markus Infanger (마르쿠스 인팡거) will take part as a speaker at 'XRP Seoul 2026' to be held in Seoul in October.
On July 12 local time, blockchain outlet U.Today reported the event will be held on Oct. 3 during Korea Blockchain Week (KBW). It will be run as a forum to connect XRP holders, developers and ecosystem projects around the world.
With the announcement, Ripple executives are being added in succession to the speaker lineup. In June, Ripple President Monica Long (모니카 롱) was disclosed as taking part as a main speaker. XRP Seoul 2026's official X account also introduced Infanger as one of the main speakers.
The organisers said it was an "honour" to welcome Infanger and stressed he is a key figure leading Ripple's contributions to the XRP Ledger. As RippleX senior vice president, Infanger oversees product development related to the XRP Ledger, partnerships and the expansion of the developer ecosystem. For this reason, future product development direction, collaboration and progress in the developer ecosystem are highly likely to be treated as key agenda items at the event.
The background to the event drawing attention in the domestic market is also clear. South Korea has long been considered a market with active XRP trading. XRP is currently the second most-traded asset by volume on Upbit, the country's largest cryptocurrency exchange. Against this backdrop, Ripple senior executives taking part in the Seoul event in person is acting as a factor raising expectations among domestic investors and ecosystem participants.
The timing of the event is drawing attention because it also coincides with recent developments around Ripple and the XRP Ledger. Ripple recently received approval for a crypto-asset service provider (CASP) licence from Luxembourg financial regulator CSSF. With the approval, Ripple was confirmed as an operator that meets the European Union's crypto regulatory framework MiCA, and it has become able to provide solutions based on XRP and RLUSD to financial institutions and companies in 30 countries in the European Economic Area.
Network indicators for the XRP Ledger are also showing an expanding trend. The XRP Ledger last week surpassed 1,000,000 agent-type payments through x402. The XRPL AI Hub was also presented as a new ecosystem platform encompassing developers, users and community participants. The organisers' emphasis on Infanger's leadership and Ripple's contributions to the XRP Ledger also aligns with this phase of expansion.
The successive participation of Ripple officials and its recent business expansion are broadening the nature of XRP Seoul 2026 beyond a simple community event. In markets such as South Korea, where XRP trading is active, messages about product development, partnerships and expanding the developer ecosystem could be more likely to translate into actual market interest. As a result, attention is expected to focus at the October event on Ripple's follow-up product direction and plans to expand the XRP Ledger ecosystem.
