Only half of Britons say they are aware of data centres despite daily AI use
Data centres are becoming more important as AI spreads, but only about half of Britons say they know the concept, a survey showed. Telehouse found 52 percent recognised the term, up from 40 percent in 2024, yet 59 percent said they did not really know what data centres are or what they do. Views worsened, with more people citing negative impacts. Power use was the biggest concern.
