Bitcoin Core to change security policy, fix and disclose vulnerabilities immediately
Bitcoin Core will change how it handles security vulnerabilities as large language models make it much easier to find some software flaws. Developer Antoine Poinsot (앙투안 푸앵소) said the project will no longer delay disclosure for easily discoverable issues because the delay offers little protection and only slows releases. Under the new policy, fixes will be made quickly and backported to supported older major versions.

Bitcoin red team uses Chinese AI to hunt security flaws in Bitcoin open-source ecosystem
Security research is under way to find vulnerabilities in Bitcoin’s open-source ecosystem using Chinese artificial intelligence models. The Bitcoin Red Team, led by a pseudonymous developer, uses Moonshot AI’s Kimi K3 along with Z.ai’s GLM 5.2 and models from OpenAI and Anthropic. The team combines AI detection with human verification and has reviewed thousands of findings across hundreds of projects, while withholding details until developers have time to fix issues.

AI checks Bitcoin security, finds vulnerabilities across 150 repositories
A Bitcoin security resource group said it used advanced AI models to inspect about 150 Bitcoin-related repositories and found more than 12 vulnerabilities, which it reported to the respective projects. The group is conducting AI-based security audits across key Bitcoin software, including wallets, cryptographic libraries and infrastructure, as part of building a so-called Bitcoin red team platform. It is also developing an open-source AI platform for Bitcoin software auditing.
