Banks and regulators launch quantum-resistant crypto project
Responsible Finance Institute (RFI) and crypto custody infrastructure firm Safeheron have launched a pilot project to test a quantum-resistant cryptocurrency wallet and on-chain transfer infrastructure, Cointelegraph reported. Banks and financial regulators from Europe, the Middle East and Asia are participating. The project uses an MPC protocol supporting NIST’s ML-DSA-65 standard on a quantum-resistant NEAR testnet. RFI said regulators including ADGM, GFSO and MFSA have confirmed participation.

Britain ranked third in a global bitcoin adoption assessment, but about 60,000 to 61,000 bitcoin held by the government is classified as seized assets linked to suspected crime, not a national strategic reserve. The index, published by infrastructure firm JAN3, factors in holdings, mining, the legal and tax environment, reserve policy and political leadership. Prosecutors said final disposition depends on confiscation and civil procedures, and guidance distinguishes seizure from ownership.

Bitget considers entering licensed crypto business in Bhutan
Cryptocurrency exchange Bitget has signed an agreement with authorities in Bhutan’s Gelephu Mindfulness City and is reviewing a move into locally licensed operations. Cointelegraph reported that Bitget plans to explore whether it can run under a local licence to secure a foothold in Bhutan’s digital asset industry. The agreement allows Bitget to build a legal operating base in the city and prepare applications for related financial services licences.
