Bitcoin checkpoints to watch this week; $65,000 is key level
Bitcoin rose to $63,960 ahead of the weekly close, its highest level in about two weeks, as markets watched a break above $65,000. The rebound coincided with short liquidations of just over $100 million across the crypto market. Traders flagged $60,400 to $60,900 as a key support zone. U.S. equity futures opened higher after a holiday, while upcoming releases include FOMC minutes, purchasing managers indexes and additional jobs data.

Why bitcoin is not rising after pro-crypto Kevin Warsh takes office as Fed chair
Bitcoin fell to $74,190 shortly after Kevin Warsh became chair of the U.S. Federal Reserve, disappointing hopes of a rebound. Progress in Iran ceasefire talks instead helped the recovery. Cointelegraph reported that crypto markets are paying more attention to the possibility of hawkish monetary policy than to the new chair’s pro-crypto stance. A rise in the U.S. two-year Treasury yield above the Fed’s target range has tempered expectations for rapid rate cuts.
