X may support one-click cryptocurrency trading, seeks to add dedicated button

X, formerly Twitter, is preparing to add a trading button that would allow users to buy and sell cryptocurrencies directly from a post screen. Coinpost reported the plan is part of X’s push to expand crypto-related features. Former chief product officer Nikita Bier mentioned the development, but the feature has not been deployed. Details on exchange connections and supported cryptocurrencies have not been disclosed.

Apple suppliers split by memory price shock; Lens Technology profit halves

Major Chinese suppliers to Apple posted mixed first-half results as a surge in memory prices squeezed smartphone component makers. Lens Technology nearly halved its net profit and reported lower revenue, citing rising memory costs, weaker demand, reduced output at its Xiangtan plant and currency swings. Luxshare Precision Industry reported strong growth, helped by autos electronics and data centres. Suppliers are looking to new iPhone and foldable-device launches for a second-half boost.

Grayscale says Zcash has potential to challenge Bitcoin

Asset manager Grayscale said privacy coin Zcash (ZEC) could have the potential to counter Bitcoin’s network effects. Grayscale Research said in a report released on Aug. 25 that Zcash has room to compete in the cryptocurrency currency segment. The report coincided with the launch of a spot Zcash ETF, as Grayscale converted its Zcash Investment Trust into the ZCSH spot ETF and listed it on NYSE Arca. Grayscale said ZCSH has a 2.5 percent fee.
