SpaceX Starship achieves first orbit, deploys 26 Starlink V3 satellites
SpaceX put Starship into orbit for the first time on Sept. 28 and deployed 26 next-generation Starlink V3 satellites, but ended the mission earlier than planned after engine problems. The vehicle reached a low Earth orbit of about 276 km and later re-entered over the Pacific for a splashdown north of Hawaii. Starlink V3 is larger than what Falcon 9 can carry, and SpaceX said it established communications with all 26 satellites after separation.

The mission, carried by a Long March 5 rocket, includes an orbiter, lander, rover and a small hopping probe. Success could secure key data from a prized polar region and carry geopolitical resonance, potentially affecting U.S. public opinion, congressional moves and NASA reforms under new administrator Jared Isaacman.

MSIT science innovation office discusses expanding AI, space, quantum cooperation in U.S.
South Korea\'s Ministry of Science and ICT said its Science and Technology Innovation Office attended a conference in the United States and discussed cooperation with Korean-American scientists in strategic technologies such as AI, space and quantum. Science and Technology Innovation Office head Park In-gyu attended UKC 2026 in Orlando from Aug. 5 to 8. He also visited the Kennedy Space Center and received briefings on facilities and the Artemis program.
