SKT to work with Arm, Rebellion on AI inference server solution
SK Telecom is developing an AI inference server solution that combines a graphics processing unit and a neural processing unit. The company signed an MOU with chip designer Arm and AI chip startup Rebellion to jointly develop a solution that uses Arm’s Arm AGI CPU and Rebellion’s Revel Card, due in the third quarter. SKT plans to validate the solution at its AI data center and review running its A.X K1 model on it.

Rebellions to work with Arm, SKT on sovereign AI inference infrastructure
AI chip startup Rebellions said on April 10 it will work with Arm and SK Telecom to jointly enter the market for sovereign AI and carrier-focused data center inference infrastructure. The companies will develop AI servers combining Arm data center CPUs and Rebellions AI chips and verify operations at SK Telecom\'s AI data center. They also plan hardware integration and joint software development, and will seek commercialization opportunities after technical validation.

Arm to sell chips directly, shifting from IP licenser to semiconductor supplier
Arm will release its first mass-produced silicon chip in 34 years, shifting from supplying IP licences to designing chips and earning revenue directly. The company unveiled the Arm AGI CPU for agentic AI data centre infrastructure, based on Arm Neoverse V3 and offering up to 136 cores per CPU. Arm said agentic AI will sharply increase CPU core demand. Meta co-developed the chip and plans to deploy it with its MTIA accelerators. Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix highlighted memory and packaging cooperation.
