Nexthop AI raises $500 million in Series B, unveils new switches
AI data centre networking equipment developer Nexthop AI has completed a $500 million Series B fundraising, SiliconANGLE reported on Tuesday. The round was led by Lightspeed Venture Partners and included Andreessen Horowitz, Altimeter and existing investors. The funding values Nexthop AI at $4.2 billion. The company also unveiled three new switches based on Broadcom chips, including models with 51.2 terabits-per-second capacity.

Coupang U.S. shareholders withdraw USTR Section 301 petition
U.S. investment firms that hold shares in Coupang have withdrawn a Section 301 petition they filed with the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative seeking an investigation into South Korean government measures related to Coupang. Green Oaks and Altimeter said they pulled the request as USTR considers a broader review of unfair trade practices affecting U.S. companies. They said consultations were prompted, but they will maintain legal action and pursue ISDS arbitration.

Three U.S. Coupang shareholders join legal challenge against South Korean government
Three additional U.S. investors holding shares in Coupang have submitted notices of intent to arbitrate, challenging South Korea’s response to a personal data leak case, industry sources said. Abrams Capital, Durable Capital Partners and Foxhaven said they will also join legal objections filed by Green Oaks and Altimeter. The Justice Ministry said the new claimants relied on the same factual assertions as earlier filings and that the government will respond through an inter-agency dispute response team.
