China\'s big tech accelerates move away from Nvidia even as H200 availability floated

China\'s big tech companies said they will step up production and adoption of their own AI chips this year, accelerating localisation of key AI infrastructure parts even as a possible return by Nvidia to China is being discussed. Tencent and Alibaba outlined plans to expand use of China-designed semiconductors and in-house chips. Nvidia hits record high after approval to sell H200 to China, surpasses silver by market cap

Nvidia shares hit a record $236.46 after the U.S. government approved sales of H200 chips to about 10 Chinese companies, including Alibaba, Tencent, ByteDance and JD.com. The move could partially reopen top-tier AI chip sales in China after October 2023 export controls. Lenovo and Foxconn were approved as distributors. Nvidia’s market value rose to $5.52 trillion, overtaking silver as the world’s second-largest asset.

Delivery Hero pushes 8 trillion won sale of Woowa Brothers

Germany\'s Delivery Hero has begun a process to sell Woowa Brothers, the operator of South Korean food delivery app Baedal Minjok, industry sources said on Wednesday. Delivery Hero is seeking about 8 trillion won, a level it said equals about 12 times Woowa Brothers\' average operating profit over the past two years. JPMorgan has distributed teaser letters to major domestic and global companies and some private equity funds.
