Nadella warns heavy AI reliance can leak companies\' core intellectual property
Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella published a post warning that excessive reliance on AI in the AI era can make it difficult for companies to protect core intellectual property. He said if AI model training flows only one way, economic value concentrates with those that control training infrastructure rather than those that create knowledge. Nadella described limits on customer data distillation and cited Kenneth Arrow’s information paradox, arguing AI reverses it by putting buyers at risk.

Palo Alto Networks CEO says AI token costs must fall by up to 90 percent
Nikesh Arora (니케시 아로라), CEO of Palo Alto Networks, said token costs must fall by as much as 90 percent for AI to become mainstream. Speaking on CNBC on July 9, he called a reported 54 percent gain in token efficiency for agent coding a good start but said more improvement is needed. He said token efficiency should drop up to 20 percent in the next 12 months and 90 percent by the following year, citing pressure on corporate AI budgets.

Neocloud market shifts as SoftBank and Meta enter
The neocloud market for AI-focused cloud computing is shifting as major players enter. SoftBank Group and its telecom unit SoftBank plan to start a neocloud business next fiscal year, renting AI computing resources to U.S. companies. Meta is also stepping up plans to use its data centres for cloud services. Nvidia is expanding support for smaller cloud firms that lease its GPUs. Big cloud companies are also building forward deployed engineer teams for enterprise AI.
