AhnLab releases Q1 2026 phishing text message trends report

AhnLab released its Q1 2026 phishing text message trends report based on detections and analysis using its agentic AI security platform, AhnLab AI PLUS, from January to March. Financial institution impersonation was the most common attack type at 53.62 percent, followed by loan scams at 18.72 percent. URL insertion was the leading approach at 81.36 percent. AhnLab said attackers are refining proven methods and warned of more attempts around May holidays.

AhnLab says phishing texts impersonating financial institutions up 343 percent in Q4

AhnLab said it released a report analyzing phishing text messages detected from October to December using its agentic AI-based security platform, AhnLab AI Plus. It said financial institution impersonation accounted for 46.93 percent of attacks, up 343.6 percent from the prior quarter. Government and public agency impersonation followed. URL insertion was used in 98.89 percent of lures, it said.
