AWS boosts log analytics performance on Amazon OpenSearch Service at no extra cost
Amazon Web Services is rolling out a new log analytics engine for Amazon OpenSearch Service, SiliconANGLE reported on Tuesday. The engine cuts data storage costs by an average 70 percent and doubles data ingestion throughput. AWS said it can also double analytics query speeds without changing hardware configurations. The engine is offered as a selectable mode within an OpenSearch Service domain and is available from Tuesday in all AWS regions that support OpenSearch-optimized instances.

AWS launches Agent Registry to support registering, searching and reusing agents
Amazon Web Services on April 9 launched AWS Agent Registry, a service designed to help companies register, search and reuse AI agents, tools and skills. The registry is part of AWS AgentCore and can also register agents running in other cloud environments and on-premises. It stores metadata such as protocols, capabilities and execution methods, and supports registration via the AWS console, SDK, API or by connecting MCP or agent-to-agent endpoints. It also offers governance features, including permission settings and approval pipelines.

AWS launches agentic features in partner collaboration platform AWS Partner Central
Amazon Web Services launched agentic features in its partner collaboration platform, AWS Partner Central, on Thursday. The AWS Partner Central agent runs on Amazon Bedrock AgentCore and automates administrative tasks while simplifying opportunity management such as co-selling and funding. AWS said partners have sought faster, more efficient ways to close deals, but fragmented data and siloed expertise have slowed progress. The agent provides sales plays, insights, funding recommendations and next-step guidance, and can connect to existing tools via an MCP server.
