Bell steps up World Cup network plans to keep service running with 45,000 fans
Canada telecoms company Bell is expanding networks around key stadium areas in Toronto and Vancouver to prepare for a surge in mobile traffic during the FIFA World Cup. Bell has deployed four mobile base stations and installed dozens of new antennas at the Toronto stadium, with $25 million invested. It expects capacity at the Toronto venue to triple during the tournament and peak download speeds to reach 4.3 Gbps, while monitoring the network around the clock.

SpaceX and Google sign $30 billion AI infrastructure deal despite rivalry
SpaceX and Google have deepened cooperation after signing an AI infrastructure supply contract ahead of SpaceX\'s planned IPO. The 32-month agreement is worth $920 million a month and could bring SpaceX about $30 billion in additional revenue if maintained. Google cited rising demand for its Gemini Enterprise platform. The deal includes termination conditions tied to SpaceX\'s chip supply capability. The companies also compete in AI and autonomous driving.

Kim Jong-cheol says media development committee push a key task
South Korea\'s Broadcasting Media Communications Commission will push ahead with setting up a Media Development Committee under the prime minister, chairman Kim Jong-cheol said. He called it the starting point for a major shift in media policy and a key task for the second half of the year. The panel will pursue regulatory reforms, support overseas expansion and introduce AI across broadcasting and media. The regulator also outlined plans on promotion policies and responses to key regulatory issues.
