Tesla HW4 may soon be outdated as HW4 Plus with double memory unveiled
Tesla is preparing an upgraded successor to its HW4 self-driving computer, dubbed HW4 Plus. Elon Musk (일론 머스크) said on a quarterly earnings call that a new AI4.1 or AI4 Plus chip will double memory, raising RAM per chip to 32 GB and total system memory to 64 GB. Tesla completes design of AI5 self-driving chip, mass production in 2027
Tesla has completed the design of its next-generation AI5 self-driving chip and has moved to the tape-out stage by sending the final design to a foundry for production. Elon Musk showed a physical sample on X. Tesla plans to use TSMC for AI5 and apply Samsung\'s 2-nanometre process to AI6. AI5 mass production has slipped to mid-2027, affecting the Cybercab robotaxi timeline.

Imported EV market shifts in Korea as Tesla, BYD gain ground and German trio slips
Tesla and China’s BYD are quickly increasing their presence in South Korea’s electric vehicle market. EVs accounted for 18 percent of the imported car market in 2024. Tesla sold about 60,000 EVs last year, while BYD sold 6,107 to enter the top ranks in a short period. German premium brands lagged, with BMW selling 5,821 units, Audi 4,427 and Porsche 3,626.
