Nvidia, Google Cloud expand AI cooperation, unveil new infrastructure and services

Nvidia and Google Cloud are expanding cooperation to build hyperscale infrastructure for next-generation agentic AI and physical AI. The companies plan to expand the Google Cloud AI Hypercomputer and offer A5X bare-metal instances based on Nvidia’s Vera Rubin platform. Nvidia said A5X can scale to 80,000 GPUs at a single site and up to 960,000 GPUs across multi-site clusters, while improving throughput per watt and reducing inference costs per token.

Taiwan’s stock market capitalisation has swelled to $4.14 trillion this month, overtaking Britain to become the world’s seventh-largest market. A key driver has been a surge in semiconductor demand linked to the spread of artificial intelligence, with TSMC at the centre of the shift. TSMC posted strong first-quarter profit and revenue growth, while foreign investors bought $8.9 billion of Taiwan shares in April. Export orders also jumped in March.

Intel shares surge 15 percent after hours on Q1 beat, strong Q2 outlook; data center and foundry sales rise

Intel\'s shares surged 15 percent in after-hours trading after the company posted first-quarter results that beat market expectations and issued a stronger-than-expected second-quarter outlook. Revenue rose 7.2 percent to $13.58 billion, topping forecasts. Data center revenue climbed 22 percent to $5.1 billion and foundry revenue rose 16 percent to $5.4 billion. Intel posted a net loss of $4.28 billion, wider than a year earlier.
