Global open-source solutions company Red Hat said on Oct. 20 it will expand availability of its open hybrid cloud portfolio on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).

The move will allow organisations to use Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) as a first-party product through the OCI console.

Subscriptions for Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform, RHEL, Red Hat OpenShift and Red Hat OpenShift Virtualization will also be available for purchase on Oracle Marketplace.

Red Hat said this will help companies optimise the impact of existing cloud investments and build a consistent foundation for next-generation workloads.

The company said offering RHEL as a first-party product on OCI is an important milestone in cooperation between Red Hat and Oracle.

Red Hat said customers will be able to use and deploy its enterprise Linux platform more easily. It said they will also be able to run workloads that require large-scale computing resources efficiently, including machine learning and emerging AI workloads.

Kevin Kennedy (케빈 케네디), vice president for Global Partner Ecosystem at Red Hat, said, "To respond to complex challenges in the AI era, companies need a robust and flexible open hybrid cloud foundation that ensures both stability and speed." He said, "Red Hat is expanding cooperation with Oracle, providing RHEL as a first-party product on OCI, and simplifying purchases through Oracle Marketplace so customers of both companies can use a trusted, AI-optimised platform as a standard. This will allow customers to pursue modernisation reliably, wherever their workloads are."
