Lee Hae-min proposes AI basic society bill, levy on companies replacing jobs
Lee Hae-min (이해민), a lawmaker from the Rebuilding Korea Party, proposed legislation to respond to employment shocks from AI adoption, including a levy on companies that significantly replace jobs or tasks. Her office said she submitted three bills, including an AI basic society bill and related amendments. The package sets national strategies and five-year plans, provides rights to retraining and livelihood support, and creates a fund financed by the levy, with possible reductions or exemptions.
