National AI Strategy Committee AI Democracy subcommittee to join Korean Party Academic Society conference on June 12
South Korea\'s National Artificial Intelligence Strategy Committee said its AI Democracy subcommittee will join a special academic conference hosted by the Korean Party Academic Society on June 12 at Korea University. Members including chair Kim Eui-young will present on a roadmap for K-democracy in the AI era, conceptual discussions on AI democracy in Korea, and developing a K-AI democracy evaluation index and global standardisation. Experts will discuss core values, policy directions and democratic governance.

National AI Strategy Committee expands, reorganises into 10 subcommittees and 2 special panels
South Korea\'s National Artificial Intelligence Strategy Committee said on March 25 it will expand and reorganise its structure from eight subcommittees and six task forces into 10 subcommittees, two special committees and one task force. The overhaul is based on revised operating rules approved at the second plenary meeting on Feb. 25. The committee will add 45 members, raising the total to 127.

South Korea finalises AI action plan to advance into global top three
South Korea has finalised its 2026-2028 AI action plan to embed artificial intelligence across the country and society, and approved separate measures on government AI infrastructure governance and an AI-driven science and technology “K-Moonshot” strategy. The plan is a statutory programme under the AI Basic Act and sets three policy pillars and 12 strategy areas. It includes measures spanning copyright, security vulnerability reporting, AI and data governance, welfare benefits and an AI basic society plan.
