DeepSeek halts second fundraising after leak of founder\'s private remarks

China AI company DeepSeek has temporarily halted its second fundraising round after private remarks by founder Liang Wenfeng spread outside the company. The firm told some investors it would not proceed with contract signings for the time being, a blockchain outlet reported. DeepSeek had moved to a follow-on round only weeks after completing a first raise in June, seeking at least 10 billion yuan and valuing the company at at least 480 billion yuan.

K-AI chips put to the test as global AI startups step up push into South Korea

South Korean neural processing unit makers are teaming up with domestic cloud companies to target the AI inference market, testing whether they can secure a foothold beyond Nvidia’s barriers. Samsung SDS allies with Anthropic to accelerate Claude-based enterprise AI business

Samsung SDS said on Friday it signed a strategic partnership with global AI company Anthropic to expand in the enterprise AI market. It said the companies will combine technology and industry know-how to strengthen their push into the Korean AI market and support corporate customers’ AI innovation. The partnership includes jointly exploring new business opportunities, training applied AI engineers for building and operating Claude, and providing Claude Enterprise to Samsung affiliates.
