LG Chem to work with Volkswagen on future car materials using ABS and EP

LG Chem said on Sept. 28 it signed an MOU with Volkswagen Group at LG Twin Towers in Seoul to develop and expand the use of next-generation and eco-friendly mobility materials. The companies will use LG Chem’s ABS and EP to pursue lighter vehicles and improved performance, and will also develop next-generation plastics and composite materials. They will share technology trends and market developments and cooperate on R&D, including feasibility reviews for applying specific materials.

Bitcoin institutional demand harder to see beyond ETFs as collateral loan risks rise

Risks in the bitcoin market are shifting from spot exchange-traded fund inflows and outflows to forced liquidation zones created by collateralised lending structures, an analysis said. As institutions spread capital across options-income products, bitcoin-backed loans and structured credit, ETF flows alone no longer show real supply and demand. The growing credit market could make specific price levels more fragile in a downturn, while macro conditions such as U.S. rates may widen spreads on bitcoin-linked debt.

Bitcoin holders raise cash without selling as crypto collateral loan market tops $67 billion in Q1

Silicon Valley Bank\'s crypto team released a report on growth in the bitcoin-collateral lending market, CoinPost reported. The report said rising participation by institutional investors and financial firms is a sign of market maturation. It cited Galaxy Research data showing crypto asset loan origination, including bitcoin, reached $67 billion in the first quarter, up nearly 50 percent from a year earlier. Long-term holders seeking liquidity without selling were cited as a key driver.
