MSIT to pursue R&D special zone supplementary budget program to support deep-tech startups
South Korea’s Ministry of Science and ICT said on April 21 it secured an additional 6 billion won in a 2026 supplementary budget for its R&D Special Zone Promotion program and will push ahead with “5 hubs, 3 special R&D special zones deep-tech support.” The ministry said the program aims to help regional economies recover and stabilize livelihoods. It will support deep-tech start-ups and early-stage companies through commercialization discovery and technology advancement support.
