Bitcoin spot ETF trading slows sharply, Ethereum sees stronger net inflows

Weekly turnover in bitcoin spot exchange-traded funds over five trading sessions fell to its lowest level since October 2024, while ethereum spot ETFs drew larger net inflows. Bitcoin spot ETFs posted $33.8 million of weekly net inflows, but late-week outflows erased most midweek gains. Ethereum spot ETFs recorded $103.9 million of net inflows and have outpaced bitcoin in inflows for two consecutive weeks, despite much smaller total assets.

Bitcoin holds price, but spot buying dries up, raising sharp drop warning

Bitcoin’s recent price stability may be more fragile than it appears as spot demand weakens again, an analysis said. A CryptoQuant contributor said 30-day spot demand fell back near minus 170,000 BTC, after recovering to about minus 80,000 BTC in early July. The rebound has relied on derivatives activity and short covering rather than strong spot buying. ETF flows have turned positive in recent weeks, but analysts said that alone does not signal a broader shift this year.

XRP spot ETF sees $7.18 million weekly outflow as crypto ETFs rebound

XRP spot exchange-traded funds recorded a net outflow of $7.18 million in the week of July 6 to 10, snapping an inflow run that had lasted about two months. The weekly withdrawal was concentrated in the Bitwise XRP spot ETF, while other XRP-linked funds saw little movement. Over the same period, bitcoin and ether spot ETFs posted net inflows. Total net assets across seven U.S. XRP funds held near $1 billion.
