LLMs face limits in English; next battleground is language as multilingual design divides

Large language models' next competitive edge will depend less on scale and computing resources and more on multilingual design and reflecting local context, an assessment said. TechRadar reported that English-centric base models are showing limits as AI spreads globally and multilingual understanding becomes a key condition for sovereign AI. It said many models still translate English knowledge rather than reason within each language, raising risks for accuracy, adoption and trust in areas such as finance, healthcare and public services.

Ethereum holds near $2,168 amid foundation sales, ETF outflows and whale exits

Ethereum is narrowly holding the $2,168 level amid simultaneous selling pressure from the Ethereum Foundation, U.S. spot ETF flows and large wallets. It traded around $2,181 on April 9, staying 0.5 percent above a key Fibonacci support at $2,168. The foundation said it would convert 5,000 ETH into stablecoins, with 3,750 ETH already sold for about $8.3 million. Spot ETF flows swung from inflows to outflows, while non-exchange whale holdings edged lower.

One in four Gen Z adults in U.S., Canada say they have had romantic talks with AI

One in four Gen Z adults in the United States and Canada have had romantic or sexual interactions with artificial intelligence, a survey found. Nineteen percent of all respondents reported similar experiences, and more than half said talking with AI is easier than talking with a real person. Some respondents said they used AI for emotional support or companionship. Most respondents viewed romantic feelings toward AI as cheating, and many kept such interactions from partners.
