LG CNS launches 'AI Box' small AI data centre, says it can be built in six months

LG CNS said on Wednesday it has launched a small data centre called the AI Box that can accommodate 576 GPUs in a single container, targeting the domestic AI data centre market. The company said the container integrates key infrastructure needed to operate a data centre and can be deployed in about six months, compared with about two years for a traditional build. It plans to install the first unit in Busan and later create a campus by clustering about 50 units on a 27,179 square metre site.

LG launches LG Sound Suite in South Korea for location-free spatial audio

LG Electronics has introduced the LG Sound Suite home audio system in South Korea, offering spatial sound optimised for a room regardless of speaker placement. It supports Dolby Atmos FlexConnect and can work with 2025 and 2026 LG premium TVs to deliver spatial audio based on each device’s position. The system includes features such as listener tracking, AI sound processing, room calibration and wireless playback. Prices vary by component.

National AI Strategy Committee to publish meeting results in markdown format

South Korea's National AI Strategy Committee said on March 5 it will write and manage the results of subcommittee meetings and discussions in markdown (.md) format and release them on the committee website. It said markdown, which expresses document structure with simple symbols, is suitable for AI learning and processing. The committee said existing Hangul documents use complex formatting that makes it difficult for AI to recognise structure accurately.
