MSIT to gather public opinions on fifth basic plan to foster science and technology talent
South Korea's Ministry of Science and ICT said on March 8 it will operate an online public feedback platform, "Science and Technology Talent Voice 5.0," to help draw up the fifth basic plan for fostering and supporting science and technology talent for 2026 to 2030. The platform will run from March 9 to 20 and be accessible through ministry and related 기관 websites. The plan is expected to be finalised in the first half of this year.

Science, interior ministries to support full-cycle AI transformation for government agencies
South Korea's Ministry of Science and ICT and Ministry of the Interior and Safety held a briefing on March 6 for government agencies on support measures for AI transformation and will run a government-wide support system, they said on March 8. The briefing drew 33 organisations including 22 government agencies and 11 public institutions. The ministries said they are taking consulting demand from 45 government agencies and will begin consulting in earnest this month.

KB Kookmin Bank cuts KB Saehuimangholssi II loan rates by 1 percentage point
KB Kookmin Bank said it cut the interest rate on new loans for its KB Saehuimangholssi II product by 1 percentage point to reduce interest burdens for financially vulnerable groups. The bank lowered the rate range for new loans handled from March 6 to 4.47 to 5.47 percent from 5.47 to 6.47 percent. Customers who repay diligently can receive additional rate cuts of up to 2.0 percentage points.
