Shinhan Bank to issue 25 billion won Ddaenggyeoyo vouchers with Seoul

Shinhan Bank said on Jan. 28 it will issue 25 billion won of Ddaenggyeoyo vouchers with the Seoul city government to help boost sales at small merchants and reduce residents’ dining-out costs. The vouchers will be available from 10 a.m. on Feb. 3 in 22 districts and can be used only on Seoul’s public delivery app Ddaenggyeoyo, with a 15 percent discount. Additional coupons and a 5 percent payback apply under certain conditions.

Savings banks enter second round of online investment-linked investments as 20 firms added to innovative finance service

The Korea Federation of Savings Banks said 20 savings banks, including Acuon, were additionally designated for the Financial Services Commission’s online investment-linked innovative finance service and plan to start within the first quarter. The service, first designated in 2024 and launched in May 2025, has supplied about 160 billion won via six online investment firms. Delinquency stood at 0.6 percent as of end-December, it said.

SK Hynix to cancel 12.24 trillion won of treasury shares as annual operating profit tops 47 trillion won

SK Hynix will cancel treasury shares worth 12.24 trillion won, after reporting its highest-ever annual results. The company decided to cancel 15.3 million common shares on Feb. 9, equivalent to about 2.1 percent of total outstanding shares. In 2025, revenue rose 46.8 percent to 97.15 trillion won and operating profit jumped 101.2 percent to 47.21 trillion won. It said it is also reviewing measures such as a U.S. listing.
