Banksalad completed the first cohort of its 'BFS' financial solution expert training program that applies an artificial intelligence-based insurance consulting and operations system.

Banksalad said on Tuesday it has ended the first financial solution expert internship program run by its subsidiary, Banksalad Financial Service (BFS).

Banksalad Financial Service is a subsidiary set up to operate insurance consulting services on the Banksalad platform. It stores data generated in business processes such as service operations, training and compliance in an in-house AI operating system and uses it to support work and decision-making.

The AI operating system consists of consulting execution support and operations management functions. The consulting support AI identifies items that require insurance checks, such as the structure of renewable insurance products, coverage gaps and unnecessary coverage, so they can be used in consultations.

The operations management AI de-identifies consultation logs and turns them into metrics, then links them with internal operations systems. It reflects data accumulated during the consulting process in organization-wide work standards and operating procedures.

The results of the first BFS cohort showed an average monthly initial premium of 800,000 won per financial solution expert. The activation rate, meaning the share of consulting staff who brought in at least 1 contract in a month, was tallied at 100 percent.

The 'BFS internship program' is a recruitment-linked course to train financial solution experts. It provides participants with training on obtaining official insurance qualifications, financial data analysis and the use of AI, and it also uses data secured through actual consulting work to improve the system.

Banksalad plans to upgrade the AI operating system at Banksalad Financial Service and expand the scale of its financial solution expert program. Based on operational experience gained in insurance, it also plans to apply AI-based work systems to other financial services such as loans and cards.
