LG Display is seeking to secure display specialists through industry-academia cooperation with Yonsei University. LG Display said on Tuesday it will jointly hold an admissions briefing on Aug. 24 at the ISC in LG Sciencepark in Magok for prospective applicants to Yonsei University’s Department of Display Convergence Engineering and their parents.

The briefing will cover an introduction to the department, an introduction to LG Display, guidance on admissions plans and a discussion with current students. Attendance is available through online pre-registration, and details can be found on the department’s website.

The Department of Display Convergence Engineering is a contract-based department whose curriculum was jointly designed by LG Display and Yonsei University. It provides opportunities for on-site training during enrollment, pays scholarships and tuition subsidies, and guarantees employment at LG Display after graduation. It operates under a structure that links admission to employment. A total of 120 students have been selected over the past 4 years, and early admissions for the 2027 academic year will begin on Sept. 7.

An LG Display official said, "As competition among global companies intensifies, the only way for South Korea to defend its technological leadership is to secure talent." The official said the company would "present a roadmap that goes beyond simply earning a degree so that students can grow into talent that will lead K-display technology leadership in the global market, and create a foundation to leap forward together as a technology-centric company."
