South Korea bitcoin demand jumps; realised profits largest in five months

Bitcoin demand on South Korean exchanges has strengthened again, pushing the so-called kimchi premium close to 2 percent, according to figures cited in the report. CryptoQuant’s Korea Premium Index rose to 1.98 percent on May 7, its highest since late February. On-chain data also showed a pickup in profit-taking, including 14,600 BTC sold at a realised profit on May 4, the largest daily figure since Dec. 10, 2025.

XRP Ledger takes 26 percent of tokenised commodities market, ranks second after Ethereum

XRP Ledger (XRPL) is expanding its presence in the global tokenised commodities market, with its share rising to 26 percent, second only to Ethereum. Tokenised commodities on XRPL total $2.043 billion, out of an overall market of about $7.7 billion. Growth has been driven largely by JusToken’s energy product JMWH, which accounts for more than 86 percent of XRPL’s tokenised commodity value, raising concerns about reliance on a single asset.

Bitcoin spot ETFs post sixth straight week of net inflows, longest run in nine months

Bitcoin spot exchange-traded funds posted net inflows for a sixth straight week, the longest weekly streak in nine months, Cointelegraph reported. Total net inflows over the period were $3.4 billion, with the strongest week bringing in $996.38 million and the weakest $22.34 million. Flows slowed later in the most recent week, turning to net outflows on Thursday and Friday. Ethereum spot ETFs returned to weekly net inflows of $70.49 million.
