Injective to support native issuance of Circle's USDC, add cross-chain transfers

Injective will support native issuance of Circle’s dollar stablecoin USDC and integrate the Cross-Chain Transfer Protocol (CCTP), The Block reported on March 17. The integration will allow USDC to be moved directly between blockchains without using a bridge. Injective plans to adopt Circle’s CCTP to support safer transfers than bridge-based methods by burning USDC on the source chain and minting the same amount on the destination chain.

Aster launches privacy-focused native blockchain Aster Chain mainnet

Decentralised perpetual futures exchange Aster has officially launched the mainnet for its privacy-focused native blockchain, Aster Chain, The Block reported on March 17. After the announcement, the ASTER token jumped 8 percent. Aster Chain targets performance comparable to centralised exchanges and supports a 50-millisecond block time and 100,000 transactions per second. It uses stealth addresses and a viewer pass feature to control disclosure of transaction histories.

Shinhan Bank joins plastic reduction initiative PACT

Shinhan Bank said on Tuesday it joined PACT (Plastic ACTion), a global plastic reduction initiative led by the World Wide Fund for Nature, becoming the first bank in South Korea to do so. The bank said it plans to expand cooperation with WWF and promote activities to reduce plastic use. It also plans to support related companies through its core financial business and expand green and transition finance to contribute to a shift to a circular economy.
