Meta returns to open-weight AI market, to release Muse Spark 1.2 weights

Meta is renewed focus on open-source AI models after shifting toward a closed approach. It plans to release the weights for its top model, Muse Spark 1.2, and introduce a new open-source model for consumer devices. The company also plans to launch Muse Glimmer, a 30 billion-parameter model that can run on laptops and will be distributed under the Apache 2.0 licence for developers to download and modify.

OpenAI expands 'Daybreak' security program, unveils security-focused model

OpenAI has expanded its cyber security program Daybreak into two tiers, Daybreak Blue and Daybreak Red, and will provide Red users with a new model called GPT-5.6-Cyber. The company said it aims to give trusted defenders capabilities before attackers can use AI at scale. Daybreak is a closed cyber security program launched in May. The expansion follows recent cyber security incidents involving AI models.
