Korea Post under the Ministry of Science and ICT said on Sunday it will run the "2026 Post Office Shopping Chuseok Gift Fair" from Sept. 1 to 27, offering steep discounts during the holiday period.

As a featured item, it will sell premium gift abalone (1 kg/extra-large) at 37,000 won, a 55 percent discount. A dried persimmon set (1.4 kg) will be offered at 33,000 won, down 41 percent, and a mixed Hanwoo beef set (2.4 kg/grade 1 or higher) at 123,000 won, a 29 percent discount.

This year’s event will run a special promotion called "Daldal Week." It will select 10 popular items each week and sell them at special prices, and it will introduce new special-price products during the event period. It will also offer themed promotions, including quick meal setups, holiday tables, premium packaging and value gifts, to broaden choices.

A random coupon event called "Find the Honey Songpyeon" will be open to anyone daily and offers discount coupons of up to 10,000 won. Customers who complete three missions, such as writing product reviews, will be given chances to enter prize drawings for items including a 75-inch TV and an air purifier. It will also run a "local specialties reward" programme that provides tiered benefits across five levels based on cumulative purchase amounts for products marked with a local specialty logo.

Korea Post chief Park In-hwan (박인환) said it prepared various discounts and customer benefits, from Chuseok gifts to holiday food. He said he hopes shoppers will use Post Office Shopping to find quality local products and prepare for Chuseok in a cost-effective way.
