Robert Kiyosaki (로버트 기요사키), a cryptocurrency influencer, urged people to buy bitcoin again, citing concerns about a weakening dollar’s purchasing power and inflation.

U.Today, a blockchain outlet, reported on Aug. 23 that Kiyosaki argued investors with financial knowledge can protect their assets with bitcoin, gold, silver and some real estate rather than cash. In a post on X, he described recent U.S. Treasury actions as another round of quantitative easing.

He described it as printing fake dollars and said a weaker dollar could fuel inflation and put cash holders at a disadvantage. He also said people should not become losers and stressed they should buy assets that can rise in value over time.

He argued that investors who understand how money works and buy assets such as gold, silver, bitcoin and some real estate become wealthier. He also said the real cost of financial illiteracy is not money spent on education but money not earned.

The comments came as concerns have risen again over U.S. government debt and conditions in the Treasury market. The U.S. Treasury said it plans to increase the size of long-term Treasury buybacks in August to at least $4 billion per operation.

Kiyosaki has cited currency debasement and excessive government debt as key reasons for holding bitcoin. He also argued in June that in a system where governments and central banks increase the money supply, savers could be among the biggest victims.

His optimism is also mentioned alongside forecasts that proved wrong. Kiyosaki predicted in June 2024 that bitcoin would reach $350,000 by Aug. 25 that year, but it did not happen. He later floated $500,000 for 2025 in November 2024, and mentioned the possibility of bitcoin topping $1 million in 2035 along with gold at $30,000 and silver at $3,000. He later again stressed the possibility of bitcoin reaching $1 million by 2030.
