[DigitalToday reporter Yoonseo Lee] Jure Karamarko (유레 카라마르코), founder of the Cardano-based token SongMarketCap, argued that ADA's return to $3 is only a matter of time.
On Aug. 20 local time, blockchain media outlet The Crypto Basic reported that Karamarko said in a recent post on X, formerly Twitter, that Cardano breaking above $3 is not a question of possibility but of timing.
The remarks come as ADA tries to rebound after a prolonged bearish stretch. ADA rose more than 10 percent the previous day to above $0.19. It is again testing levels it had been far from since the 2021 bull market.
ADA's rebound coincided with a broader recovery in appetite for risk assets. Total cryptocurrency market capitalisation rose 8.7 percent to $2.37 trillion. Bitcoin climbed into the $73,000 range, and ether also traded around $2,252. As investors started to reconsider the possibility of an altcoin rebound, buying interest also picked up in ADA.
$3 is not an unfamiliar level for Cardano. ADA hit an all-time high of $3.10 in September 2021. The current price is around $0.19, meaning it would need to rise about 1,530 percent to regain the previous peak.
Karamarko is not the only one to cite $3 as a target. TradingView analyst OceanStaker said the historical "Power of Three" (PO3) pattern could support a move toward $3, and cryptocurrency forecasting platform Telegaon predicted ADA could top $3 by 2028 and reach $3.24.
A broader resumption of a bull market is cited as a factor supporting the possibility of a Cardano recovery. Charles Hoskinson, Cardano's founder, referred to the move in 2021 when ADA surged from $0.025 to $3.10 and voiced confidence in its long-term growth potential.
An expanding decentralised finance (DeFi) ecosystem is also lifting expectations of a recovery. Cardano is pursuing proposals such as RealFi and AlphaGrowth PRIME to draw in new users and revitalise the ecosystem. If those plans lead to actual inflows of users and capital, they could support a rebound in ADA.
Still, a cautious approach is needed for long-term price forecasts. Karamarko described ADA reaching $3 as a question of timing rather than possibility, but market conditions, regulation, the pace of adoption and investor sentiment can change at any time. Ultimately, whether Cardano's rebound is sustained is expected to depend on broader cryptocurrency market trends and results from ecosystem expansion.
$ADA above $3 isn’t a question of if, it’s a question of when. I ❤️ CARDANO
