Superfast's game subsidiary 111percent said on Aug. 13 it will formally launch its new title, "Random Dice 2."
"Random Dice 2," which begins service at 10 a.m. on Aug. 13, is a sequel to "Random Dice: PvP Tower Defense," released in 2019 and with 21.56 million cumulative global downloads as of end-June this year. The original "Random Dice" will continue to be serviced in parallel with the new game.
The new title fully removes the gacha system. Users can directly choose the dice they want using currency earned through gameplay. It overhauled its structure so that wins and losses are decided by deck building and play style, moving away from random probability and a paid structure.
The dice system was also revamped, with "awakening effects" newly introduced. When players reach the top in-game tier, "7 pips," each dice's unique special ability is activated, allowing players to gain new skills and stats.
It also added "supporter" characters that did not exist in the previous game. Supporters provide options that affect the battle situation, such as discarding dice, changing dice types and pushing lanes.
Chaekyungsoo Chae (채경수), product manager at 111percent, said, "We wanted to make a game where users earn rewards based on the time and strategy they invest." He added, "They will be able to experience fun with added strategic depth from dice combinations."
