Dunamu said on Tuesday it has supported a total of 4,122 young people over the past three years through its "Upbit Next Series," which helps with credit recovery and economic self-reliance.

Upbit Next Series is a three-stage self-reliance support programme for young people facing debt and economic hardship. It runs through credit recovery, asset building and job connections.

Among them, "Upbit Next Series: Didim" provides financial consulting, living expenses and zero-interest loans for living costs to young people under 39 who are undergoing debt restructuring with the Credit Counseling and Recovery Service. A total of 936 people have received support so far.

A total of 476 young people received financial consulting and living expenses support. Consultants with backgrounds in the financial sector, including the Bank of Korea and the Korea Life Insurance Association, conducted 2,732 tailored financial consulting sessions.

It provided zero-interest loans for living costs to 460 young people who needed emergency funds, with terms of up to 36 months. The total amount of support was 1.15 billion won, and the average loan repayment rate among recipients was 75.8 percent.

An initial analysis of data on the effectiveness of third-year mentoring showed participants' positive outlook on their future economic situation rose 27 percent, their economic resilience 16 percent, and their financial management capability 13 percent.

A Dunamu official said, "Through tailored financial consulting, young people are also increasing their economic and psychological resilience." The official added, "We will continue support so that more young people can become economically self-reliant."
