[Digital Today reporter Sangyeop Oh (오상엽)] DigitalX Co Ltd, which operates Korbit, said it has completed registration of a corporate name change effective Aug. 11. The former corporate name was Korbit Co Ltd.
The change concerns the corporate name, and the Korbit name used at user touchpoints such as the app, website and customer notices will remain unchanged for now.
There will be no change in how the service is operated. The way user assets are held and the entity responsible for processing personal information will also remain the same as before.
DigitalX plans to change Korbit, the name of its exchange service, in the future. It has not yet disclosed the timing or the new service name.
The company urged caution over phishing damage that could exploit the corporate name change. DigitalX explained it will not ask users for passwords or one-time password (OTP) authentication codes, or request asset transfers, on the grounds of the name change.
DigitalX is issuing official guidance to users about the name change in line with completion of the registration.
