Juiced, an electric bicycle company, has officially launched the long-range electric bicycle "Scrambler Hardtail" with a dual-battery system. It keeps the moped-style design while significantly increasing battery capacity to reduce the burden of charging.

Electrek, an electric vehicle outlet, reported on Aug. 6 that the Scrambler Hardtail is an expanded model that carries over the design of the existing Scrambler series while adding a second battery. Juiced said it offers a maximum range of 120 miles, about 200 km, under ideal conditions.

The new product is a follow-up model to the new Scrambler lineup unveiled this summer. Juiced had then previewed a version focused on long-distance riding and has now specified its plan with the launch of this dual-battery model.

The key change is the battery system. The Scrambler Hardtail mounts an additional battery on the underside of the frame, expanding total battery capacity to 38.4Ah. The combined energy capacity of the two batteries totals 1,996Wh. Juiced explained it can travel up to 120 miles, about 193 km, in ideal riding conditions. Actual range may vary depending on rider weight, road conditions and speed. The point of the model is not that all users will actually ride 200 km at once, but that it reduces concerns about remaining battery on longer rides.

Power performance is the same as the existing Scrambler Hardtail. It uses a rear hub motor with up to 1,764W peak output and focuses on extending riding duration rather than increasing speed itself. The product is designed to meet Class 2 or Class 3 electric bicycle standards. The strategy targets consumers who want extended use in long commutes or in environments where access to charging facilities is difficult.

The body structure is simplified compared with existing full-suspension models. The hardtail version removes the rear suspension to streamline the structure and instead applies large 20 by 4-inch tires to enable stable riding on both city streets and unpaved roads.

Juiced stressed that it is not simply an electric bicycle with a motor, but a design that considers everyday usability. It sought differentiation by combining the Scrambler's distinctive motorcycle-like design with a practical body configuration.

The price is set at $1,999, about 2.84 million won. Juiced is currently selling it at a price discounted by $245 from the suggested retail price and also provides various accessories, including fenders, a handlebar bag, a bar pad, a head plate, a custom name plate and stickers.

The Scrambler Hardtail targets the long-range electric bicycle market by highlighting a 200-km-class range and a price below $2,000. Competition in the e-bike market has recently expanded toward reducing charging frequency and improving practical convenience rather than competing for top speed.

Juiced also plans to focus on expanding battery capacity through this model, targeting demand for both long-distance travel and leisure riding. Attention is focused on whether the Scrambler Hardtail, featuring a motorcycle-style design and long range, can establish itself as a new option in the long-range e-bike market.
