Step App will end all services by the 21st local time. Cointelegraph reported on Aug. 6 that Step App has begun procedures to shut down after four years of operation.
In a notice posted on social media platform X, Step App asked users to complete unstaking of locked tokens and to close exchange positions before the 21st.
In the notice, Step App said it is proud of what it achieved, but did not provide a separate explanation for the shutdown.
The price of the project's governance and utility token FITFI also stayed weak. FITFI traded at $0.0001624, based on CoinGecko. That is 99.9 percent below its peak of $0.73 recorded in May 2022.
The closure adds Step App to the list of cryptocurrency companies shutting down amid a weak market.
