KT CEO Park Yoon-young (박윤영) on Wednesday inspected the operational status of AI infrastructure at KT Cloud's Mokdong 2 data centre in Yangcheon district, Seoul.

The visit was arranged to review the status of the AI data centre business, a core infrastructure for KT's strategy to become an "AI transformation (AX) platform company", and to examine the group's data centre operating and technology capabilities.

Park toured the integrated control centre and major facilities and reviewed the infrastructure operating system. He also checked the operational status of data centre interconnection (DCI).

Park also visited the "AI Innovation Center" to review the development and verification status of next-generation AI data centre technology. At the AI Innovation Center, KT is validating solutions to improve power efficiency and operational stability of AI data centres, including D2C (Direct-to-Chip) liquid cooling, which KT said it was the first in South Korea to commercialise at its Gasan AI data centre.

Park said, "AI data centres are core infrastructure for KT to leap into an AX platform company," and added, "We must grow our long-accumulated data centre operational experience and technological know-how into differentiated competitiveness."

He added, "Let the entire group join forces so that the KT Group's capabilities can translate into customer value."

KT is pushing to expand its AI data centre business based on real demand, drawing on accumulated operating experience and network competitiveness. Since taking office, Park has continued on-site communication-focused management by visiting network and customer touchpoints and key business sites of group affiliates in succession.
