LG CNS said on Tuesday it has won the Korea Airports Corp project to establish an AI masterplan (ISMP).

The project aims to set mid- to long-term strategy and phased execution plans to apply AI at 14 airports nationwide, including Gimpo, Gimhae and Jeju. Korea Airports Corp has been pursuing 50 AI innovation tasks since 2025 with the goal of "realising future airports through AI innovation".

LG CNS will identify AI services to optimise airport operations, improve customer services and build safety management systems. It will take charge of AI strategy consulting, AI and data architecture design, establishing AI governance, technology verification for key tasks and setting execution plans for follow-up projects.

It will also review safety management services using agentic AI. When an abnormal situation occurs at an airport, on-site staff record the situation by voice, and an AI agent organises the content, drafts an initial report and guides response procedures by scenario.

LG CNS plans to refine service models that can be applied to actual airport operations after technology verification of AI tasks, including this one.

Bae Min (배민), head of LG CNS' finance and public sector business unit, said the project goes beyond establishing a simple information strategy and is a project to design the direction of AX in the airport industry. He said LG CNS will contribute to Korea Airports Corp's realisation of an AI-based future airport model.
