[DigitalToday reporter Hojeong Lee] The Korea Creative Content Agency said on Aug. 5 it has completed operations of the Korea pavilion at ChinaJoy 2026, held from July 31 to Aug. 3 at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre in China, together with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

At the exhibition, KOCCA supported on-site booth demonstrations and business meetings for 10 small and mid-sized Korean game developers. The participating companies were Nanalie Studio, Nanu Company, Banjihaga Games, Studio BBB, Averton, ACT Games, Endeve Games, Weiwei, Que Sera Games and Hyperpercent.

KOCCA said about 30,000 visitors came to the Korea pavilion over four days and took part in demonstrations. It also held 114 business meetings with buyers including local publishers and investment firms and secured export consultations worth about $12 million, despite the exhibition being centered on business-to-consumer (B2C) transactions.

Ahead of the main event, three companies including Hyperpercent took part in the China International Game Developers Conference (CIGDC) held on July 30 and discussed cooperation plans with developers from Asia and Western countries. After completing their demonstrations, the participating companies plan to continue local marketing through the Chinese video platform Bilibili.

KOCCA also plans to continue operating Korea pavilions at major global exhibitions in the second half, including Gamescom in Germany in August, Tokyo Game Show in Japan in September, Brazil Game Show in Brazil in October and Gamescom Asia in Thailand.

Seongjun Kim (김성준), head of KOCCA's Game New Technology Division, said it supported participants so the trip could lead to tangible results such as additions to Steam wishlists, pre-registrations, downloads and increased interest on social networking services (SNS). He said it will continue to help Korean game companies create opportunities in global markets.
